Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking an attorney with a minimum of 8 years of employment litigation experience for an excellent, top ranked law firm. The candidate for this position would join an elite group of attorneys to work exclusively on EPLI cases. The position offers a highly competitive compensation package and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

·         Active bar license in state of California

·         A minimum of 8 years of employment litigation experience

·         A JD degree from a top, ABA accredited law school

·         Excellent writing skills

·         Ideal candidate will have experience with EPLI (Employment Practices Liability Insurance) matters

·         Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize responsibilities

·         Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities:

• Conducting the initial factual investigation into class, collective, representative, and complex litigation matters by collecting and reviewing key documents.

• Drafting answers, corporate disclosure, removal documents, initial disclosures, and additional legal documents in various jurisdictions.

• Represent clients in labor and employment litigation matters, including but not limited to wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour disputes.

• Preparing a full evaluation of the case based on the needs of the client and trial team, including an assessment of the client’s wage and hour and/or other employment policies, analysis of the claims at issue in the case, and the possible and likely defenses in the matter.

• Acting as the liaison between teams to identify when additional team members are needed.

Job Type:

Full-time- Remote

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $240,000 annually, contingent on relevant experience.
