YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain energy management applications with Excel, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Support the development of data-driven algorithmic models to forecast pricing; and monitor trends occurring within the power grids and wholesale electricity markets to enhance the monetization of our data center assets.
  • Interface with other departments requiring transactional information from the energy team.
  • Support the structuring of complex Power Purchase Agreements by the Business Development team.
  • Explore short-term trading opportunities in various ISOs through research projects driven by market data.
  • Understand energy market dynamics, key macroeconomic drivers, and communicate ISO-specific research to the team.
  • Stay updated on the latest regulatory and market rules and anticipate impacts of new regulations on Northern Data Group’s operations.
  • Work as part of a team, participating in special projects/duties as assigned by the group.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or other STEM fields; Graduate studies are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in commodity trading, energy management, bitcoin mining, or programming. 
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
  • Proficient knowledge of Python, or other programming.
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving and Strong Communication skills.
  • Passionate about Bitcoin, Bitcoin mining, energy, and power markets is a plus!  
  • Curious and eager to learn, genuinely kind and optimistic, possess excellent attention to detail, and strong verbal & written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment where teamwork and independent work ethic are essential.
  • Ability to organize time well, set priorities, and express ideas effectively and fluently.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to organize and maintain a fluid administrative process.
  • Statistical and analytical skills for evaluating supplier proposals and pricing.
  • Prove ability to quickly learn new software programs.
