Experienced Civil Engineer - Federal Aviation Projects

Overview

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an experienced civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovative aviation team on military and federal projects. A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required. This position is available as a remote position in Mobile, Alabama, or a hybrid position near one of our other Mead & Hunt Offices. **

Responsibilities**

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and leading military and federal aviation engineering projects
• Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
• Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
• Leading proactive client interactions, marketing and communications with federal aviation clients
• Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
• Serving as the project manager and mentoring project staff; and serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• At least five years of relevant work experience
• PE license in any state with ability to obtain a PE license within six months of start date
• Experience with military and/or federal projects

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• AutoCAD Civil3D design software
• Leading the development of plans, specs, reports, cost estimates, and submittal packages for military projects
• SpecsIntact software
• PCASE software
• Project QA/QC including leading design reviews
• Preparing scopes, fees, and contracts
• Client management and marketing
• Mentoring project staff
• Project management

Salary Range: $95,000 to $145,000 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
