As an Account Carbon Manager – Business Development, you will be responsible for managing relationships with existing clients and identifying and attracting new clients, play a key role in understanding the needs of clients, offering tailor-made carbon management solutions, fostering long-term relationships with a focus on sustainability, and, be responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating deals within the carbon offset and EAC (Energy Attribute Certificate) portfolio. This person will manage a diverse set of external relationships with project developers, trading companies and brokers, and other parties active in the voluntary carbon market; they will find and negotiate the best carbon credits deals in the market, leveraging their network, analytical skills and negotiating skills. The Account Carbon Manager will be responsible for the financial structuring of investments into new projects and support the process to find new strategic or financial partners for Anthesis’ project development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Your main task is to create a sustainability journey with the client.
- Identifying and approaching potential clients who could benefit from our carbon markets services and presenting compelling solutions.
- Identify and engage with potential clients interested in carbon credit and EACs/RECs investments.
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and actively listening to their needs and challenges related to CO2 management.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities through networking, outreach, and participation in industry events.
- Collaborating with the internal team to develop compelling and tailored proposals for carbon credit and EACs/RECs procurement that meet the specific needs of clients.
- Present proposals to clients, addressing their specific sustainability goals and objectives.
- Lead negotiations for carbon credit and EACs/RECs transactions, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Close deals and ensure seamless execution of contracts with clients and project partners.
- Expanding your portfolio and thus contributing to the future of Anthesis.
- Actively seeking collaborations to introduce the Anthesis’ offerings to a wide range of companies.
Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Motivated to help companies and organizations make a positive contribution to the world, and understands that important decisions need to be made to prepare companies for the future. With your drive and knowledge, you can make a difference.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Environmental Sciences or similar.
- 8-10+ years of professional as an Account Manager, Business Developer, or similar commercial position.
- Demonstrable experience in achieving new business and complex sales processes.
- Demonstrable experience in carbon credits and energy attributes certificates (EACs/RECs) sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Enthusiasm, proactivity, and perseverance are not just words but also actions.
- Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.
- Proactive with the ability and confidence to use initiative.
- Organized, methodical, and analytical.
- Conversationally bilingual in French or Spanish is not required, but would be an asset
