The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and innovative Vice President or Senior Vice President to join NRG to help expand our Technology research practice . We’re looking for someone with extensive experience in building business in the technology space at a supplier side organization.

In this role, you will oversee a wide range of team members and initiatives across the full client lifecycle from establishing relationships with clients that are new to NRG , to leading client pitches, developing proposals , and consulting and providing senior leadership on strategic research projects.

You will bring your intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset, and storytelling ability to lead research initiatives that help answer important strategic questions for our technology clients. Your Impact**

  • Support the expansion of a successful, growing technology practice focused on providing insights to guide tech client strategies across the marketing lifecycle from identifying the opportunity, to developing the offer and value proposition , to ongoing measurement of performance.
  • Pursue new business opportunities, and drive the sales process through proposal development, presentations, and client meetings.
  • Develop, maintain , and deepen strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and objectives are met through our research offerings. This w ould include tapping into your existing network of clients to bring in business on NRG’s behalf.
  • Create innovative research solutions for technology research, leveraging NRG assets as well as third party providers, that will set NRG apart and drive business growth.
  • Stay up to date with tech industry trends and best practi ces in research and incorporate this knowledge into the development of new research solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients, fully understanding their overall business objectives to strategically strengthen the relationship.
  • Guide research team members in translating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations through visual, creative, and story-driven reports.
  • Contribute to and leverage thought leadership research to showcase NRG’s expertise and knowledge in technology research.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience – We’d love for you to have 8 + years’ experience working in consumer research and/or B2B research , or in an analyst/strategy role at a technology company (ideally some combination thereof, but supplier side experience is a must ).
  • Your degree(s) – Ideally looking for a B.A./B.S. degree in areas such as Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics, or a r elated field. Additional degrees are welcome!
  • Passion – An enthusiasm for research, data driven approaches, and strategic thinking . You live and breathe all things advertising and enjoy staying up to date on industry trends and developments. Small talking or deep diving on these topics fuels you.
  • Executive presence – Experience in handling complex client issues, providing well-informed strategic counsel , at times under tight time pressure.
  • Research practitioner – Expert - level understanding and experience with a range of complex qualitative and quantitative research methodologies Ability to use thought leadership research to help build NRG’s profile as a trusted and innovative research provider in the technology sector .
  • Client- centric – Proven experience nurturing and building relationships with clients, confidently providing strategic guidance to them.
  • Business Development mindset – You are excited about proactively driving new business opportunities.
  • Leadership – You have a well-developed research acumen and can lead and develop a team. You have no problem helping with decision making related to team management and resourcing. You are a strong collaborator and can partner effectively with leaders across the business to develop and deliver optimal insights for our clients.
  • Curiosity and critical thinking – You are genuinely interested in seeking information on the “whys.” You can solve complicated questions using creative and collaborative tactics. You lead the development of research plans as well as deliver game-changing insights.
  • Data viz chops – Expert at navigating data sets and extracting insights. Experience visualizing data with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Slides, Keynote and more.
  • Storytelling – Strong writing skills where you can craft a story around data insights and clearly communicate key points in a succinct , impactful manner . You have great oral communication skills as well.
  • Data analysis techniques – Experience with the following data analysis techniques: statistical significance testing, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis) and conjoint and discrete choice analysis.
  • Self-starter – Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered .
  • Expert multitasker – Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met. Staying organized is a must for managing projects!
  • Hawk-eyed attention to detail – Errors don’t get past you and you are always focused on ensuring high levels of quality control and reporting.
  • Great Team Member – T eam player who is able to work collaboratively and harmoniously within a team and across teams. You will roll up your sleeves to help get the job done and no task is beneath you. You welcome feedback because you have a zest for learning and growing.

Compensation**

To comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $ 1 5 0,000-250,000 . Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
