The Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer is primarily responsibility for:
• Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.
• Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
• The candidate will be required to provide Production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.
Experience/Preferred Qualifications:
• The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
• 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
• Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
• Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation.
• Excellent Communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
• The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a Technical/Business Discipline or 10 years of experience in the field.
