What you will do

You will take product responsibility for one of our six product areas:

1. Identity and Access Management
2. Booking: Allowing students to enrol on their studies with minimal administrative overheads
3. Finance: Allowing students to manage their contracts and pay for their studies
4. Study progress: Helping students understand where they are on their educational journeys
5. Exams: Allowing students to enrol and take exams that form study milestones
6. Product Offer/Academic staff: This team looks after a group of applications including supporting academic staff. One example of a service that this team looks after is to match the preferences and expertise of academic staff with courses.

You will have full ownership of this domain and work with your fellow colleagues to help bring our new platform into reality.

• Product Strategy and Vision: You define and articulate the long-term product strategy and vision for your product area, aligning it with the overall business goals and defining product roadmaps that drive customer satisfaction and business success.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: You will lead a scrum squad which includes design, engineering and QA and will provide guidance and support, resolve conflicts, and facilitate collaboration to ensure the product's timely and successful launch.
• Product Discovery: You don't get carried away by the volume of stakeholder requirements and complexities. You dive deep into your area in collaboration with your business stakeholders, identify the underlying problem, link the user and the system perspective, and derive scalable simple solutions.
• Product Planning and Execution: You are not scared of planning and progress tracking. You develop and maintain detailed product plans, including feature prioritization, release schedules, and resource allocation. You work with engineering teams to define technical requirements, scope projects, and track progress. You are responsible for driving the execution of the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations. You are able to make decisions without oversight.
• Product performance: A product is not done with its delivery. You monitor and evaluate product performance, iterate on the product roadmap, and drive product success through effective launch and adoption strategies.
• Stakeholder Management: You engage with internal stakeholders to provide updates on product strategies, roadmap progress, and business impact. You effectively communicate complex concepts and trade-offs, build consensus, and influence decision-making.

Who you are

• You have 5+ years of experience in product management of complex products in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment; and loved every minute of it.
• You have strong analytical skills and the ability to dive deep to get to the best solution. You can break down complex processes and create simple solutions around explicit business requirements.
• You strive for the right balance between defending your plans and adapting to new circumstances. Change doesn't scare you.
• You have a track record of delivering complex products, defining iterations and aligning roll-outs with stakeholders.
• You follow a data-driven approach, KPIs are in your DNA and you are constantly iterating on and improving your product. You prioritise based on what elements in your backlog have the largest quantifiable outcomes.
• You possess strong stakeholder management skills to effectively communicate and align with these cross-functional teams.
• You can inspire and influence teams, facilitate collaboration, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders. You possess excellent communication skills in either German or English to articulate the product vision, gain support, and drive alignment with business objectives.
• You are not a yes-person. While you are fully aligned with the long-term strategic goals of the business. We do expect you to speak up if you think there are better ways of achieving it.
• You are able to work independently and are relentless in pursuit of the outcome.
• Ideally, you have experience with ERP systems and hybrid customer groups.
