How can you make an impact?**

The Content Licensing Specialist is responsible for directing and overseeing research and licensing of third-party assets to be used within higher education products, working closely with their manager and others to make sure that assets fit within McGraw Hill’s rights strategy. Collaborate with authors, editors, and project managers on all assigned programs to ensure project execution on time and within budget and ensures accurate data within permission management system. As a Content Licensing Specialist, you are a knowledge expert playing an integral role in the quality assurance and project management of the Licensing team. This is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across the United States

Your impact on the team:

  • Responsible for approximately 3,000 permissions licenses per year
  • Responsible for meeting publication windows and risk avoidance/compliance associated with approximately $20m in annual net sales.
  • Continual updating, and re-engineering of process for efficiency gains
  • Maintain high levels of performance with emphasis on results and cooperation across functional and departmental boundaries.
  • Maintain flexibility in problem solving while maintaining a strict level of governance to avoid risk for company.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as Expert on all rights management requirements established by McGraw Hill in accordance with copyright laws and standards.
  • Direct the research and selection of assets, and clearance of rights for third party content for print and digital products.
  • Communicate with and negotiate licensing terms and rates with copyright holders.
  • Collaborate with and coach authors and editors on content planning and provide feedback on content plans to minimize problems.
  • Work with freelance photo researchers, stock houses, product developers and editors, designers, authors, and in-house production staff in ensuring quality is met on all programs.
  • Implement rights management, meta-tagging expectations, and uploading processes
  • Ensure integrity of data in all system
  • Keep abreast of digital authoring and DLE initiatives, informing how content licensing will adapt and be of benefit to the process
  • Work with internal and external teams to establish schedule and budgets and manage schedule and costs for all assigned work.
  • Enhance productivity, improve speed to market.
  • Responsible for management of plant dollars associated with assigned projects.
  • Responsible for meeting publication windows

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1+ years’ experience in project management and/or licensing
  • Demonstrated experience with rights management of 3rd party content/Understanding of various enterprise (GPS) and Higher Ed systems and data flows used in data tracking and reporting preferred
  • Excellent team player with a strong background in collaborating successfully with internal and external partners to bring about successful execution of goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and deadlines while ensuring consistent forward progress on projects.
  • Effective networking and negotiation skills

The pay range for this position is between $50,000 - $55,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
