How can you make an impact?**

The Director of Strategic Market Research will be both a strategy and research leader within the U.S. higher education team. In this high impact role, the Director will work closely with business leaders across the U.S. higher education business to develop, test, and articulate strategies that will drive business growth, while developing a deep understanding of industry trends, competitors, and customer needs. The Director will be an expert in strategic market research, spearhead and operationalize new processes for strengthening insight generation across the business, and work closely with the VP of Strategy and Research and other executives on a wide range of strategy and growth initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone that wants to work cross-functionally, help shape a company’s growth trajectory, and enjoys the process of developing actionable insights to influence strategic decision-making and investment. This is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across the United States.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Plans and conducts research in service of key strategic questions and growth initiatives, including market research, competitive analysis, market sizing, target evaluation.
  • Structures and analyzes complex problems with business leaders, delivering recommendations for growth.
  • Develops and oversees cross-functional governance processes for ongoing customer research efforts across the organization.
  • Develops deep understanding of industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Regularly informs senior leaders in the organization on market and customer insights.
  • Create and communicate compelling presentations for senior leadership and/or other corporate stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with

  • A bachelor’s degree with a strong background in strategic market research.
  • Strong background conducting strategic research in a formal market research role or within a strategy consulting or corporate strategy capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Demonstrated experience working with business leaders to develop, launch, and leverage research in support of strategy
  • 5+ years of experience required in higher education
  • Ability to clearly structure complex problems and solutions using strong communication and presentation skills to influence action
  • Strong strategic problem-solving orientation and high degree of curiosity
  • Organized self-starter that is highly productive, has a strong work ethic, is detail-oriented, is methodical and has a “Can do” attitude.
  • Excellent relationship management skills involving cross functional teams
  • Experience with digital research tools (e.g., Qualtrics)
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS)
  • Strategy consulting or corporate strategy background preferred
  • Strong financial acumen and modeling skills a plus

_The average base salary range for this position is around $130,000 annually, however, base salary pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits depending on the position offered.
