Job Description:

In pursuit of this mission, we are looking to hire a seasoned Pricing Actuary to help shape affordable yet profitable insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pricing Strategy Development: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of forward-thinking pricing strategies considering loss experience and competitor prices, centred on key risk attributes such as age, breed, and location.
• Data Analysis: Harness our large datasets to unearth insights and pinpoint opportunities to optimise pricing strategies while balancing affordability and quality.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct meticulous risk assessments to craft pricing strategies that promote both company profitability and affordability.
• Product Development: Collaborate intimately with the Product and Marketing team to design insurance products aligned with our mission and catering to pet owners' diverse needs.
• Achieving Company Targets: Play a pivotal role in helping the company attain its target loss ratio and hit sales objectives through intelligent and responsive pricing strategies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Uphold a pricing framework that aligns with regulatory standards, engendering a relationship of trust and transparency with regulators.
• Reporting: Compile detailed reports to elucidate the pricing strategies and their anticipated repercussions to senior management, the risk carrier and the board.
• Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory shifts to maintain a competitive edge in pricing strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of total work experience with at least three years dedicated to pricing.
• Experience in personal lines general insurance, such as pet, motor and home, would be beneficial.
• Mastery of statistical software such as R, SAS, or Python is preferred.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving aptitudes.
• Strong communication and presentation acumen.
• Proven ability to work effectively both in independent and team settings.
