Job description

Technology Enabled Solutions at Zeppelin Power Systems is responsible for building IoT solutions based on telematics data for a wide range of different applications, i.e. marine vessels, locomotives, combined heat and power plants. We enable our customers to monitor their vessels and machinery in the field. Our drive is to provide our customers with actionable insights into engine performance, environmental conditions, and much more. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using AWS, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Kafka and other relevant technologies

  • Build and manage data storage solutions to support analytics and reporting needs

  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for data access and integration

  • Provision, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure defined as code

  • Using and extending our existing code base working together with our colleagues as well as external development teams

  • Communicate efficiently and collaborate with peer engineers to create state of the art products

  • Having a keen eye on documentation, consistency, and modularity of our code base

  • Advancing our development best practices and implement and improve testing and automation

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong track record of building and maintaining data pipelines

  • You gathered substantial experience utilizing and maintaining cloud services, preferably AWS

  • You are proficient in Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes, and REST

  • You  are well versed in Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform)

  • You are highly proficient in Python and SQL

  • You are versatile, curious minded and you enjoy expanding your areas of expertise

  • You enjoy communicating and working independently as well as part of a team

  • You think beyond your given tasks and always have the bigger picture in mind

  • You are proficient in English and comfortable with remote teamwork
