Position Overview

The Supervisor for Assessment Services has a range of primary responsibilities that contribute to the effective management of testing processes and the overall quality of assessment services. This position will also collaborate with the Manager of Assessment Services, Texas, in building and leading a high-performing testing team. You will also partner with the overall organization to participate in the division’s recruitment, training, guidance efforts, along with fostering a positive work environment.

Essential Position Functions

  • Assist in developing the overall test strategy, plans, and objectives for projects, considering scope, timelines, and resources.
  • Support the Manager in overseeing test execution, coordinating testing efforts, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and tracking defects.
  • Collaborate in building and leading a high-performing testing team, including recruitment, training, guidance, and fostering a positive work environment. 
  • Manage assessment contractors in reference to assignments and hours.
  • Contribute to the continuous evaluation and enhancement of testing processes, introducing new tools and methodologies, and promoting best practices.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation, generating metrics and reports to provide stakeholders with visibility into testing progress and quality status.
  • Collaborate with academic teams to understand academic needs, participate in After Action Reviews (AAR), and provide pertinent testing information.
  • Support the Manager in promoting a culture of quality, advocating for testing best practices, staying updated on trends and emerging technologies, and driving continuous improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the overall testing program, coordinating with operations, academic leads, and faculty to schedule and organize required exams.
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and maintaining accurate and confidential test data, managing student records, maintaining databases, and generating reports on required tests.
  • Support the Manager in managing shipping and receiving of devices, testing materials, and supplies.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of state testing procedures and requirements.
  • Familiarity with district testing programs and software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and families.
  • Strong time-management skills, attention to details, and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in student data-management systems and Google Suite products.
  • Understanding of state testing resources and rules put forth by the state education agency.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple projects to meet specific deadlines.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
  • Professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent Stellar Virtual in a positive manner at all times.
  • Ability to remain professional, calm, and service-oriented during high-stress situations.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical and complex information and data to varied audiences.

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.
  • Valid teaching certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with personnel and team management.
  • Experience with logistical planning and records research.
  • Teaching and/or school counseling experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides, databases, data entry, and spreadsheet functions.
