Job Summary:**

The Senior Copywriter is an important new role at Mercer Advisors that will create compelling content for internal and external audiences that drives meaningful results. You’ll join a growing content development team that will be instrumental in creating differentiated content that is leveraged by a variety of audiences. The Senior Copywriter must be adept at distilling complex ideas into digestible and actionable content and advise junior copywriters on best practices and standards. The Senior Copywriter must have a 360-degree skill set, meaning they are comfortable writing anything from short form articles, web specific content, video scripts, social posts and pulling facts for an infographic. The successful candidate must be comfortable creating from a brief as well as interview subject matter experts to create content to editing/rewriting existing articles. This role reports to the VP, Content but will partner with internal SMEs and leaders of the organization. **

Essential Job Functions Include:**

  • Strong conceptual abilities, remarkable writing skills and a knowledge of the digital landscape
  • Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams to ensure content is aligned with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and the project objectives
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Able to produce a range of content, including thought leadership, articles, promotional/sales materials, client communication, video scripts, social content, emails, event invites, infographics, success stories, client communication, and more
  • Ability to take previously written content and rewrite in brand voice while keeping target audience in mind
  • Participate in editorial meetings with VP, Content and executive staff to generate new ideas
  • Interview SMEs, translating their knowledge into content
  • Able to efficiently take a topic and produce versioned content based on audience personas
  • Able to embrace AI and other tools in workflow process for efficiency
  • Knowledge in social platform best practices and experience developing and publishing content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Journalism
  • 5-7 years in a copywriting position, with at least 1-2 of those years producing financial content
  • Experience working in a regulated industry with a compliance component
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of production across various media
  • Ability to create clear content from complex ideas
  • Exceptional written, communication, presentation, project management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work from creative brief while at the same time embrace being inquisitive to produce new thought patterns and ideas
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of SEO basics
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Desire to work on a growing team and moves quickly
  • Knowledge of the AP Style guide
  • A portfolio of published content

Travel:

Ability to travel as needed to conduct in-person meetings with the field and full-team meetings. **

Work Location:**

Remote with the ability to come into the office if located near a current Mercer Advisors office with space. **

Working Conditions:**

Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a workstation. **
