We’re looking for an IT Operations Analyst and is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement. **
This is a contractor position.**
The Opportunity
The Auction Technology Services (ATS) provides the technical environment for Online Auction Operations (OAO). ATS uses unique technologies and technical solutions for the RB live simulcast auctions. ATS supports all auctions over the world in over 40 locations. This role will require availability for some very flexible work hours. Auction support may start very early mornings and finish very late evenings.
This hands-on operational role involves Auction support, Network monitoring, OAO systems support, HW, and SW support. Working closely with OAO personnel and management, Auction Operations, IT Operations, IT Infrastructure, and IT Security. This position is best suitable for an agile person with an outgoing personality.
The Operations Analyst will regularly maintain all OAO systems (HW and SW), including PCs, networking equipment, and A/V analog and digital systems.
The Operations Analyst will work closely with the ATS manager or independently on new initiatives, R&D, and engineering tasks. This role requires openness to unorthodox solutions and an open-minded approach to creating solutions. The successful candidate will go through a very intensive training program. **
In This Role You’ll**
- Assist or work independently on resolving all OAO systems issues during auctions
- Set up monitoring systems and software needed for live sales
- Monitor networks, communication links, OAO systems, and all HW and SW related to live auctions
- Monitor audio systems and adjust levels for clerks and auctioneers
- Assist live auction events at sale sites
- Assist or work independently on the installation, configuration, and management of the OAO Windows infrastructure.
- Assist or work independently on resolving all OAO systems issues including but not limited to network, computing, A/V equipment in OAO area, sale sites, OAO clerks and auctioneers working remotely.
- Assist or work independently on engineering and R&D assignments
- Forecast any needed equipment or software, budgeting for and implementing any changes
- Coordinate activities with vendors as required.
- Keep current with Network, security, and AV trends and best practices.
- All tasks are done in accordance with Security principles. Security of OAO systems is of the utmost importance.

Here’s What You Bring
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 - 5 years of experience in networking and different areas of IT in a support role
- Ability to troubleshoot network-related issues
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- Ability to work independently on engineering and R&D
- Ability to produce thorough and effective technical documentation.
- Availability to work very flexible hours, including very early mornings and late evenings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with OAO systems is an asset
- A/V systems support and management of an asset
- Scripting, coding an asset
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel internationally is essential
- Outgoing personality
This Job Will Require You To
- Work rotational shifts.
- Work rotational on-call work.
- Assist with support calls.
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Lift and transport of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- International Travel may be required (including local trips between sites in the Lower Mainland).
Individual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
Based on the national average, the anticipated base salary range for this role is $35 per hour.
