Overview
One of Aston Carter's Top Clients is actively searching for a solid Staff Accountant to the team at this time on a fully remote basis. This individual would support the assurance team for the company and work with high profile private equity clients for their general ledger functions and work with private equity accounting functions. The desired candidate will be driven, self motivated, and not only capable but willing to take on new challenges. Below is a detailed list of responsibilities and qualifications for this position. **
Description**
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for
- Preparing and posting various journal entries
- Research and correct account discrepancies
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts
- Assist with the evaluation of internal controls
- Post monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals to General Ledger
- Analyze Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for variances
- Assist with preparation of Financial Statements
- Assist in month, quarter, and year end closing activities
- Support financial and operational audits
- Maintain files and documentation, in accordance with company policy and GAAP
- Assist with other projects as needed
- Documenting financial transaction details and monitoring the transactions
- Preparing and filing financial documents
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
- Two to Three years public or private accounting experience
- Private equity accounting experience is REQUIRED!!
- Understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPA and/or Bookkeeping experience would be a plus
