Equitable is looking for a dynamic Director of Sales Training to join the Individual Retirement team. This position will focus on training our Annuities group. You will work remotely with 10% travel as needed. **

Key Job Responsibilities**

  • Senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction on execution of Sales Training for industry leading annuity distribution.
  • Designs, delivers and evaluates required product training for new product launches. Partners with Product Development teams to identify gaps in product knowledge and executes necessary training to increase the knowledge base of sales force.
  • Create best practices to enable the sales force to "practice" learned training through roleplays and other mediums.
  • Establishes a training program that will be used for onboarding new Individual Retirement wholesalers and ongoing refresher training based on need and enhancements.
  • Assess the professional skill development needs of the sales force and executes necessary training programs to address these needs. Identifies training programs from outside vendors to leverage with sales force.
  • Monitors and reports wholesaler participation in required trainings and maintains record for Compliance.

The base salary range for this position is $105,000-$156,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications**

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of sales or training experience with variable annuities

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFP, CLU, ChFC, or RICP advanced designations strongly desired
  • Wholesaling experience with variable annuities, a big plus
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent written skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

Sales Proposals and Presentations: Knowledge of sales processes, tools, and techniques; ability to prepare and present formal recommendations for how the organization can meet the customer's needs.

Sales Training: Knowledge of sales training methodologies; ability to ensure that sales and sales management employees have the knowledge and skills required to meet both tactical and strategic sales objectives.

Territory Management: Knowledge of territory management practices, tools and techniques; ability to manage and maximize insurance business performance for one or multiple geographical area(s).
