Job Details:

General Notes

Dr. Kaya De Barbaro is seeking an excellent candidate for a post-doctoral position in her lab. Dr. Kaya De Barbaro's lab uses wearable audio, motion, and physiology recordings to characterize the processes of maternal mental health and infant social-emotional development in everyday home settings. The project will include women with a history of childhood maltreatment as participants.

The Daily Activity Lab is an interdisciplinary team bridging developmental science, clinical psychology, computer science, and electrical engineering. We have just received NIH funds to begin a longitudinal research study to develop and test the potential of wearable sensors to assess the quality of early mother-infant interactions in natural home environments. Existing multimodal sensor data sets from our recently completed NIMH multimodal sensor study also continue to be analyzed and published in the lab, allowing the candidate immediate access to data for analysis and publication. This would be an excellent position for a postdoctoral candidate wishing to gain experience in multimodal sensing and computation.

The position will be initially funded for one year, but subsequent years may be available. Start time may be negotiated. Candidates who have completed all the requirements for their Ph.D., but the degree has not yet been conferred, will be considered. The salary will reflect the current NIH schedule.

What benefits do I receive with UT?  The university offers an impressive benefits package. For more details on benefits, please see: https://hr.utexas.edu/prospective/benefits and https://hr.utexas.edu/current/services/my-total-rewards.

This position is eligible for a hybrid Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) (on-campus and remote work). FWA arrangements are subject to manager approval and may shift due to changes in business needs.  The remote location must have a reliable internet connection to support working remotely. UT policies on Flexible Work Arrangements are available at https://hr.utexas.edu/current/fwa.
