Job description

Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION:

The Financial Business Analyst provides professional and technical support services that ensure the accuracy and integrity of the PeopleSoft (PS) Finance System modules. Analyzes current practices and procedures to improve quality, security, and efficiency of system processes. Provides research, testing, and implementation of necessary user and regulatory changes to the Finance System modules and integration of the student accounting and human resource/payroll modules. Supports the Work Order Management System.

This role offers full remote work options for candidates living in Florida, with occasional office-related travel. **

Essential Functions**

  • Serves as liaison between Financial Services and the Computing Services technical team in the resolution of problems associated with implementation and maintenance of all PeopleSoft Financial modules, such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing.
  • Diagnoses problems related to software, process design, and training. Escalates technical problems to the Computing Services team or Financial Services team.
  • Collaborates with department management to identify PeopleSoft Financials issues, establish priorities, tasks, timelines, and project work plan. Provides leadership in the development, design and implementation of business processes and prepares end-user guides and documents.
  • Interfaces with the College Computing Services staff and PeopleSoft support groups for problem solving and financial systems function developments.
  • Provides technical assistance and information to end-users regarding business applications, queries, and other processes.
  • Analyzes business practices and implements changes/redesign of the College processes in transition to PeopleSoft processes, and in ongoing development of the PS Financials system capabilities by monitoring progress of upgrades and conversions, customizations, component developments, and testing.
  • Coordinates system testing and integration strategies for all PS Financial and Work Order Management System upgrades, modifications, customizations, and component developments.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and laws for all systems updates.
  • Workflow administrator for requisitions, purchase order changes, and budget transfer approvals as well as supporting the Facilities and Safety and Security Service Request/Work Order system.
  • Conducts security audits and makes recommendations for modification of end user security in the PS Financials system for employees.
  • Provides report writing support for Financial Services and other College departments.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in implementation and development of ERP Financial systems.
  • Three years of experience in Financial Services business processes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience in implementation and development of Oracle PS Financials in a community college or higher education environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to become proficient in PeopleSoft HRMS and Campus Solutions integration to PS Financials and to General Ledger.
  • Ability to become proficient with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in the use of software packages such as spreadsheets, word processors, databases, page layout programs, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to support end users in a client-server environment, with emphasis on PeopleSoft Financials including use of SQL Server Management Studio, Application Designer, nVision, and PS Query.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of and adjust readily to changes in procedures, practices, and other assignments.
  • Ability to function either independently or within a team, depending on the work assignment/project.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and all levels of management.
  • Ability to analyze problems with detail and accuracy, keep complex records, assemble and organize data, make sound decisions or recommendations and prepare reports from such data.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments/projects.
  • Ability to effectively plan and lead a team, including training and motivating others.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills on both individual and group levels.

WORK ENVIRONMENT And SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and overnight, out-of-district/state travel.
