Brian & Associates is looking for an Accounting Associate to support the financial operations of several startup clients within the e-commerce and consumer product market. In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders to execute core accounting functions for three to five client teams and build out their accounting/finance infrastructure at the same time to support future growth.

Your Role
- Support new client account onboarding and configure client accounting systems
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and day to day client/vendor questions
- Support month-end accounting functions, including payroll, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger
- Track and manage reconciliation schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities/expenses, and deferred revenue
- Manage cost of goods sold, inventory demand planning, and assist clients with ad-hoc pricing/margin analysis
- Prepare and assist with tax filings for W2s/1099s and sales tax
- Support the Controller in preparing financial reports and analysis for client leadership and coordinating work with external partners and investors
- Model best practices in all areas of the accounting and financial process in accordance with GAAP; collaborating with team members to analyze and streamline processes both internally and externally
- Develop client relationships through providing timely support and guidance in regularly scheduled client check-ins and day to day communication
- Manage retail operational accounting including, issuing invoices, reconciling discounts and chargebacks, collecting deposits and matching accounts receivables
You Should
- Have excellent analytical, problem solving, and problem & trend identification skills
- Be extremely well organized, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Demonstrate strong judgment and independence on prioritizing competing deadlines and client needs
- Effectively communicate (written and verbal) financial concepts for an audience of varying financial understanding
Your Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience (Big 4 accounting firm auditing, corporate accounting, or general accounting), some start-up experience preferred but not required
- CPA Certification
- Quickbooks and Bill.com Experience required
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting
- Experience with inventory accounting, preferably within consumer product goods; retail industry experience is a plus

The salary range for this role is $60,000-$75,000.
