About The Role**

The Senior Scientific Program Manager (Nonclinical) manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supports logistics, and drives timelines and communication to ensure successful execution of nonclinical portfolios or IND-enabling packages for our clients. The Senior Program Manager adequately evaluates risks and develops and implements risk management plans to mitigate effects on project objectives and deliverables. **

What You'll Do Here**

  • Independently oversees nonclinical study packages or portfolios from award to completion, inclusive of support services.
  • Plans and facilitates internal and external kick off meetings and ongoing team meetings, and ensures action items are documented, circulated, and completed.
  • Uses autonomy and strong interpersonal skills to liaise between the pre-award team, operational team, and Sponsor to ensure requirements, scope and milestones are understood and met.
  • Serves as an advocate for the Sponsor, proactively making recommendations and troubleshooting.
  • Is aware of and communicates client expectations and requirements across business divisions, as applicable.
  • May participate in and prepare for Governance meetings.
  • Contributes to contingency planning for key resources and activities.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate tools, such as a summary report, Gantt, communication plan, action trackers, etc., ensuring that regular updates are provided to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Business Development to ensure that a successful relationship is maintained by staying current with the Sponsor’s potential pipeline and future operational strategies.
  • Aids Business Development in promoting Altasciences' services.
  • Understand Altasciences’ service lines and capabilities, to serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholder inquiries during execution of studies.
  • May serve as a Program Manager for cross-service drug development awards spanning CDMO, nonclinical, laboratory sciences and clinical work.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Master’s degree or higher degree preferred in Biotechnology, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a similar Life Sciences field.
  • 10 years as a Study Director or Nonclinical Project Manager in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or contract research organization setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of early-stage drug development, leading to IND submissions.
  • Experience in leading drug development programs spanning manufacturing, toxicology and first-in-man studies a definite plus.
  • Experience in managing strategic partnerships would be beneficial.

  • Ability to travel for client visits, site visits and/or meetings (approx. 20%).
  • Software: Microsoft Office, Client Relationship Management Systems, Timeline Management Software (Smartsheet, MS Project).

What We Offer

The pay range estimated for this position is $82,500 - $110,000 annually. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data. **
